OnStage Atlanta has been a huge, supportive family for me over the past 2 years of my growing acting career. The first time I stepped into that theatre space and auditioned for The Addams Family I had little knowledge about what I was doing, how to carry myself, and even what to do with myself. Since then, I have worked with them on multiple shows and now they have given me the opportunity to take my choreography skills to the next level.
The dogfight I want in… Those words condemn my character and all the rest on the bus, as awful people bent on finding the ugliest girl in town and taking her to a dance. I mean, the marine with the ugliest date wins the pot. Isn’t that a good enough reason to try to find the girl of our worst nightmares and win some money as well? After all, it is our last night in town before shipping off to Vietnam.
Uh-Oh, Here Comes Christmas! Yes, the holiday season is approaching and it time to steady ourselves as we brace for impact of the final moment in the holiday season marathon; which happens every Fall, but still seems to catch us by surprise every year… Or is it the fact Christmas seems to be creeping closer every single year? Either way, Christmas is coming and there is a show you have to see. Directed by ME!
Junie B. Jones comes to life on November 14th at 11am on the Georgia Ensemble Theatre stage and you need to come see us sing our hearts out about a top secret personal beeswax journal! This show has been kick-ass and one hell of an experience for me. Being my first touring show, it has taught me a lot about what it means to pack a tinny bus with your sound equipment, set, and costumes. It also taught every single one of us how to unload and load the bus in just under 15 minutes. Bam! Took a few trials, but when we can pack up and leave a school in 15 minutes, let’s just say it makes everyone very happy.
I’m directing and choreographing my first show at Act1 this season! Come out and audition for a musical comprised of short stories titled “Uh Oh, Here Comes Christmas!” Jennie Blevins, my voice coach, friend, and mentor, will be musically directing the show. With her by my side, I’m sure we will accomplish many magical moments on stage.
